That Time Taylor Swift Met Prince William and They Ended Up Singing Backup for Bon Jovi

Taylor Swift is having quite the fairytale week.
Fresh off her four wins at Sunday's American Music Awards, the "Red" singer jetted off to London for an event withPrince William.
Swift, 23, attended the Winter Whites Gala — her first royal event — on Tuesday at Kensington Palace in a gown fit for a princess. With her hair swept back, Taylor looked radiant in a long, white, embellished ensemble.
Taylor was at the gala to perform — and perform she did — but she wasn't a solo act the entire time. At one point she and Prince William joined Jon Bon Jovi, who was an honoree for his humanitarian work, for the New Jersey native's hit "Livin' on a Prayer."
In a truly classic moment, which was luckily captured on video, Jon was playing his guitar as Taylor and Prince William sang backup. The country singer guided the royal, telling him where to jump in by flashing him a "hold on" hand signal. She was adorably animated with the guys — confidently dancing next to Bon Jovi and making her signature hand heart gesture. William, who sweetly bobbed his head, gamely played along, though in a more reserved way — and also tried to get the audience to join in on the acoustic number.

Taylor signed on for the event to help Prince William raise money and awareness for his charity Centrepoint, which aids homeless youth.
"Oh my God, this is so incredibly exciting to be performing at Kensington Palace," she told Us Weekly while walking the blue carpet. "With the snow, the lighting, the decorations, it's all so Christmas-y. It's kind of surreal, right? I'm at a palace!"

Taylor also exclaimed she was just "soaking it all in" during her visit, telling reporters that Prince William "was really funny" and "so cool."

According to ABC News, Taylor and the Duke of Cambridge talked about his new baby and her music. The two even joked about dancing.

One lady absent from the majority of festivities was Kate Middleton.

According to the official invitation, the Duchess of Cambridge was set to attend a private reception earlier in the evening, before dinner and the live concert presentation.

Presumably, Kate called it an early night to be with her 4-month-old son, Prince George.
